The Tokyo Kitasuna Little League from Tokyo, Japan, defeated Red Land Little League of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, in the championship game, 18–11, which was the most total runs scored (29) in any final game. It was Japan’s fourth title in the past six years.

Tournament Format[edit]
Currently, the LLWS is broken up into two brackets: the United States Bracket and the International Bracket. Each bracket is further divided into eight divisions, and each division is represented by one team. For the competition, there are two pools within each bracket, and four teams per pool.

The average fastball is between 50-60 mph for a pitcher in the Majors division of Little League (11-13 yo). Pitchers in the Little League World Series throw fastballs 60-70+ mph. Only a few pitchers touched 70+ mph in 2015 and 2016.

Considered a phenomenon as he led his Bronx team to a third-place finish in the 2001 Little League World Series, Almonte was revealed to have actually been two years too old to play Little League baseball. Although there were many allegations during the 2001 Series, the truth was not revealed until weeks later.

Webster peaked that day, as he suffered a shoulder injury and played just one college season. Now, he operates a baseball academy and enjoys a quiet life.
But not long after the historic run, coaches from a rival team came forward and accused Jackie Robinson West of using ineligible players from outside league-approved boundaries. Little League teams are assigned specific areas in which players must live or go to school to be eligible to play for that team.
Barring rain forcing games to be played Monday, Weir cannot pitch again at the Series since he needs four days rest after throwing 83 pitches against California.

Hawaii has produced three Little League World Series champions: West Oahu Little League in 2005, Waipio Little League in 2008, and Honolulu Little League in 2018.
A 1st and 2nd place winner will be chosen for each U.S. Little League Region. First Place Winners receive: $500 cash award to be used for safety equipment or insurance premium. Trip for two League Representatives to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

(c) Minor (Player Pitch) Little League (Major) Division and above: A local league may establish that games will consist of six (6) innings [Intermediate (50-70) Division/Junior/Senior: seven (7) innings], or meet regulation as outlined in 4.10 and 4.11, or meet a minimum 1 hour and 45-minute time limit.
