SOLUTION!: Go to chrome://flags in URL bar, search for extensions, DISABLE “Extensions MENU”. Then relaunch chrome and it goes back to the old extensions toolbar! Can now see all extensions in toolbar & in menu (3 dots), & rearrange them.
All you do is mouse over the little empty space between the address bar and that double-arrow, until you see your cursor change to a left-right arrow. Now drag this “handle” to the left. As you do so, you’ll see the icons revealed (make that re-revealed). Problem solved.
Click the View tab in the Folder Options dialog box. In Advanced Settings, select Show Hidden Files and Folders. Deselect Hide Extensions for Known File Types. Click OK.
To hide your extensions, click and drag your address bar to the right. To hide individual extensions, right-click the icon and select Hide in Chrome Menu.

To view the plug-ins installed in Chrome, type chrome://plugins into Chrome’s address bar and press Enter. This page shows all the installed browser plug-ins enabled in Google Chrome. To disable a plug-in, click the Disable link under it.
The location of the file is in your user directory in the path “AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default.” If you want to modify or delete the bookmarks file for some reason, you should exit Google Chrome first. Then you can modify or delete both the “Bookmarks” and “Bookmarks. bak” files.
The simplest is to go to the Finder > Preferences menu, select the Advanced tab, and check the “Show all filename extensions” box. All your file extensions should now be visible – easy as pie. Conversely, if you want to hide your file extensions, just uncheck the box.
You can also do it by right-clicking on the unopened file and clicking on the “Rename” option. Simply change the extension to whatever file format you want and your computer will do the conversion work for you.
If you run into difficulties launching Honorlock, it is possible that another active browser extension is blocking the Honorlock extension. If this occurs, you will likely see the error message, “This item has been disabled in Chrome” when attempting to launch Honorlock.
You will need to use Google Chrome and download the Honorlock Chrome Extension. You can download the extension at www.honorlock.com/extension/install. When you are ready to take your exam, log into Canvas, go to your Course, and click on your exam.
This usually stems from permission issues regarding Google Chrome’s access to your webcam. Honorlock’s support site provides the steps to checking your Google Chrome webcam permissions, but it is also possible for your webcam access to be entirely blocked at the system level on your device.
In the File Explorer Options windows, click the View tab and find the box that says Hide extensions for known file types. By default, this box will be checked. Uncheck it and click OK to apply your changes — all files in the File Explorer will now have visible file extensions.

Because Chrome for Android doesn’t actually support Chrome extensions, you can try either of the following methods to gain the functionality you want: Install extensions on your Android device using another browser. Install the corresponding app, for extensions that have one, from the Google Play Store.
Step 1: Open Google Play Store and download Yandex Browser. Install the browser on your phone. Step 2: In the URL box of your new browser, open ‘chrome.google.com/webstore’ by entering the same in the URL address. Step 3: Look for the Chrome extension that you want and once you have it, tap on ‘Add to Chrome.
The main difference is that extensions are usually just source code, but plug-ins are always executables (i.e. object code). As of 2021, plug-ins have been deprecated by most browsers, while extensions are widely used.
To “Powerwash” a Chromebook effectively means to completely reset it, just as an Android device or smartphone might be factory reset. That’s something other OS’s can do too but it’s typically much safer, faster, and easier to accomplish on a Chrome OS gadget.
Open the Chromebook’s settings by clicking on your username in the bottom right-hand corner, then clicking “Settings.”
