The Return with the Elixir is the final Reward earned on the Hero’s Journey. The Hero has been resurrected, purified and has earned the right to be accepted back into the Ordinary World and share the Elixir of the Journey. The true Hero returns with an Elixir to share with others or heal a wounded land.
Once the Hero is back home, it’s time to acknowledge their change in character. “Crossing the return threshold” is the stage in the monomyth where the hero has left the chaos of the outer world and return home. But it’s hard to adjust to the old world.
The Road Back: The hero deals with consequences of confronting dark forces of Supreme Ordeal. Odysseus must “give reward to people”. In this sense, his homecoming is the reward, and he gives it to his father, Laertes. … unless something is brought back from the Inmost Cave, the hero is doomed to repeat the adventure.
Hiro’s mentor for his call of adventure is Tadashi, his brother. Encourages Hiro to use his talents instead of participating in illegal bot fights. Tadashi inspired his brother to join the University of San Fransokyo by creating an invention that will blow Professor Callaghan away.

The Crossing of the First Threshold
“This is the point where the person actually crosses into the field of adventure, leaving the known limits of his or her world and venturing into an unknown and dangerous realm where the rules and limits are not known.”
Think of the Threshold as the boundary between your hero’s familiar, comfortable home and the new, dangerous frontier. It is almost always depicted physically as some kind of boundary, like a fence, chasm, river, or wall.

The hero is rescued from a final plight from an unexpected source. The rescuer may be someone who had previously abandoned the hero or even someone the hero does not know. In mythic stories, this intervention may come from a god.
The atonement with the father of Gilgamesh would be when he meets Utnapistim. When Gilgamesh tells the reason of his journey, Utnapistim teaches him a life of a person with an immoral life so that Gilgamesh could learn uselessness in immoral life. Utnapistim purposely tests Gilgamesh to send him home with lesson.
Gilgamesh’s adventure from the cedar forest to Utnapishtim’s home is full of trials. He must defeat Humbaba, travel through the land of Night, and cross the Waters of Death.
Fluffy is an extremely large three-headed dog, apparently loyal to Hagrid. He is apparently modeled on Cerberus, the three-headed dog who guards the entrance to the Underworld in Greek mythology.
