The UBE was designed by the NCBE to test such skills and knowledge that should be possessed by every lawyer prior to attaining a license to practice law. The MBE tests seven subjects: Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.
Your Multistate Bar Exam score (MBE score) is the score you receive on the multiple-choice portion of the bar exam. States no longer release “raw” scores. So you won’t see the actual number (currently out of 190 scored questions) of questions that you answered correctly. Rather, you will just see the “scaled” number.
If you are a first time taker of the examination in Florida, are currently scheduled to take both parts of the General Bar Examination in February 2018 or July 2018, and have a qualifying score on the MBE, you may transfer your MBE score to Florida and take Part A, only, of the General Bar Examination.
You want to aim for a scaled score of at least 140-145 (which is the average score). Ideally, you should want a 150+ scaled score to have confidence to pass the exam. The national average MBE scaled score for the last few exams was: 134.0 6 in Feb. 2021; 132.6 7 in Feb.
Students who are more big picture-oriented may prefer the UBE since they will be able to quickly apply the basic rules, while more detail-oriented students may prefer the California Bar Exam, which provides more time to argue the facts and apply the nuances of the law.
The MBE is scored on a scale which can range from 40 (low) to 200 (high). “Raw” MBE scores (i.e., the number you actually got correct out of the 175 scored MBE questions) are scaled using a statistical process called “equating” which is supposed to account for the difference in difficulty between exams.
The most heavily weighted topic in Criminal Law & Procedure is Constitutional Protection of Accused Persons. This topic, alone, accounts for 12-13 questions, which is approximately 50% of the graded Criminal Law and Procedure questions.
Does AdaptiBar get harder? … The AdaptiBar program does not inherently get harder. The technology in the program learns your strengths and weaknesses as you answer questions. It will then adjust the presentation of questions to test your weaknesses.

If your score is older than seven years, check with your testing jurisdiction to determine if your score is available from the jurisdiction; if your score is not available from your testing jurisdiction, check with the jurisdiction to which you are seeking admission for instructions about how to proceed.
Delaware. Delaware makes the list as one of the hardest bar exams in part because of the score required to pass. Students must obtain at least a 145 to pass, which is the highest in the nation. Delaware also only offers the exam once per year, giving students who fail a very long wait before they can take it again.

So, you can take it once or you can take it ten times or more. Another note: Nobody will know if you fail unless you tell them!

The performance information provided for the MBE is a scaled score which can range from about 40 (low) to 200 (high). MBE scaled scores are calculated by NCBE based on a statistical process known as equating that is commonly used on standardized examinations.
Can I transfer my score to New Jersey? No, applicants must meet all New Jersey requirements in Rule 1:24 and Rule 1:27 even if they are admitted or qualify in another jurisdiction. I sat in a jurisdiction that administered all components of the UBE – MEE, MPT and MBE but isn’t a UBE state.

The Barbri invented questions are harder than the real MBE questions. (Real MBE questions are still difficult though.) … Further, this exam does not compare you to how everyone will do on the bar exam since the students who take the Barbri simulated MBE often are the ones who are studying the hardest.
Too much passive studying: Engaging in too much passive studying is the number one reason students fail the bar exam. It’s the “too much time reading and watching and not enough time doing” problem. Bar review companies are great at assigning a bunch of videos to watch and giving you extremely long outlines to read.
