Ignite presentations are fast-paced and creative presentations conducted in five minutes with 20 PowerPoint slides, with each slide advancing every 15 seconds. Ignite presenters are encouraged to use a variety of pictures and very little text in their slides to convey a story to the audience.Jul 24, 2013
They are a way for session leads to ‘pitch’ their session on the opening night to ‘sell’ the audience on attending their session over the coming days. The Ignite presentations will take place on Wednesday, May 16 in the afternoon. There will be an Ignite rehearsal that you must attend if you are going to present.
Ignite (Ignite Talks) is a series of events where speakers have five minutes to talk on a subject accompanied by 20 slides, for 15 seconds each, automatically advanced.

The attendees of MS Ignite can choose from different categories of passes. By now, passes of all categories are completely sold out. The full conference pass was priced at $2,395 per head. The least expensive pass was for the student category at $995 per head.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft shifted last year’s Microsoft Ignite to a virtual event with nearly 270,000 attendees (this compares with approximately 35,000 who usually attend the in-person conference). Registration for this year’s event is open, and similar virtual attendee numbers are expected once again.

The presentation format was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture. The first PechaKucha Night was held in Tokyo in their gallery/lounge/bar/club/creative kitchen, SuperDeluxe, in February, 2003.
Because of the short presentation time a number of different topics can be covered in a short time, allowing a wide range to be covered quickly. Using lighting talk techniques in other presentations can be useful — focussing on one point per slide, with the use of graphics can help to keep the audience attention.
