Emory University is renowned for its liberal arts college, professional schools and one of the leading healthcare systems in America’s southeast. It was founded in 1836 as a small Methodist college in Georgia, in a town named Oxford after the prestigious English university.
Georgetown occupies top spots in most major publications. U.S. News ranks it #23 among national universities, but it’s in the top 10 for veterans and service-learning. Bottom line: Georgetown takes care of those who take care of others. Washington Monthly, notable rival of U.S. News, ranks Georgetown even higher at #8.
Two of the most elite schools in the US are Harvard University and Georgetown University. … Many students assume that Georgetown is an Ivy League school, too, like Harvard. Unfortunately, it is not one of the eight Ivy Leagues. But the good news is that Georgetown University is considered a Hidden Ivy.
It’s difficult to get into a school as competitive as Georgetown without an unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.0. And 3.5 is more ideal, given Georgetown’s stats on class rank percentiles (seen in Table 1 of this article; in addition, 85% of accepted students were in the top 10% of their class).

Villanova admissions is very selective with an acceptance rate of 28%. Students that get into Villanova have an average SAT score between 1320-1470 or an average ACT score of 31-34. The regular admissions application deadline for Villanova is January 15.
Georgetown College has one of the best pre-medical programs in the region, with an acceptance rate close to 100% and a long line of successful alumni. It is important to realize that requirements for medical school are not the same as requirements for a Biology or Biomedical Sciences major.

You should also have a 3.78 GPA or higher. If your GPA is lower than this, you need to compensate with a higher SAT/ACT score. For a school as selective as Emory University, you’ll also need to impress them with the rest of your application.

In their first days on the Hilltop, they may also have noticed the general attractiveness of our student body. Georgetown students are generally perceived as good-looking by their peers, and this may be no accident.
Persons who are 21 or older may possess, serve and consume alcohol only in University facilities where permitted and only when they have first received any permissions and licenses required under University policy and applicable law.
Also, the dorms and apartments are generally small, cramped, and often have big problems. When students call about problems, like a heater that isn’t working, it can take days for facilities to fix it. There isn’t enough on-campus housing for all of the students, which is also a big problem!
Georgetown students tend to be type-A extroverts: very smart, highly organized, outgoing, easy to talk to, and driven. This is not a wear-pajamas-to-class type of college experience, for better or for worse. Students take pride in being well put-together and the gym is always crowded.

They want students who will do well in their classes and also work well with professors, fellow students, and university groups. Georgetown also wants to admit those who will have a positive impact on the school and the world in general, both while they’re students and after they graduate.

Georgetown University has consistently been deemed one of the top 20 universities in the nation. It is one of the oldest colleges in the United States, having been established in 1789. The campus, located overlooking the Potomac River in Washington D.C, covers about 104 acres.
Many people think that all Georgetown students are your typical rich, preppy John and Jane Hoyas. rich kids, legacy, smart, well balanced, connected to the city, elitist, networked to the professional world.
In order to have a decent chance of being admitted to Georgetown with your SAT score, you should have a GPA of at least 3.7 or 3.8. But there are a few blue/green dots in your zone, so you have at least some chance of being admitted.
