Writing Small and Large Numbers
A simple rule for using numbers in writing is that small numbers ranging from one to ten (or one to nine, depending on the style guide) should generally be spelled out. Larger numbers (i.e., above ten) are written as numerals.
To write in figures means using the digits 0-9 to write the number and not use words. Here we have the words ‘twenty two’, to write this in figures I would put 22. If you see the words ‘four hundred and two’, in figures this would be 402.
The general rule is that you should spell out numbers one to one hundred, and use digits for anything higher than that. Also hyphenate numbers that that are made up of two words (“thirty-seven”). You should also spell out other round numbers like “thousand,” “hundred thousand,” “billion,” and “trillion.”

Number bonds are 2 different numbers that add up to a certain number. In this case number bonds of 5 would be 5+0, 4+1, 3+2 and then these equations reversed, 0+5, 1+4 and 2+3.
Numerals should be used for numbers 10 and above, but numbers nine and below should be spelled out. Spell out numbers at the beginning of a sentence. A number that begins a sentence should be spelled out rather than noted as a numeral, even if the number is below 10.
MLA Style spells out numbers that can be written in one or two words (three, fifteen, seventy-six, one thousand, twelve billion) and to use numerals for other numbers (2¾; 584; 1,001; 25,000,000). APA Style, on the other hand, generally uses words for numbers below 10 and numerals for numbers 10 and above.
Numbers up to nine should always be written in words, anything higher than nine can be written in numerals. Alternatively, some guides suggest that if you can write the number in two words or fewer then use words rather than numerals.
Symbolically, factorial can be represented as “!”. So, n factorial is the product of the first n natural numbers and is represented as n! For example, 4 factorial, that is, 4! can be written as: 4! = 4×3×2×1 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 24.
They’re just products, indicated by an exclamation mark. For instance, “four factorial” is written as “4!” and means 1×2×3×4 = 24. In general, n! (“enn factorial”) means the product of all the whole numbers from 1 to n; that is, n!

Here’s how it works:
The guiding rules for general writing suggest you should almost always use full words for small numbers, from one to nine (i.e. not 1, 2, 3, to 9), and numerals for those over nine. As a rule of thumb, use written words if it can be expressed in two words or less.
