When using APA format, follow the author-date method of in-text citation. This means that the author’s last name and the year of publication for the source should appear in the text, like, for example, (Jones, 1998). To cite educational standards on a references page, include the author’s name, copyright year, title, publisher and location of publication. Format standards in the following manner: Author(s). (Year published).
They were the only ones to partially adopt it from the start as they used only the English standards and developed their own math standards. There is no correlation between states that have adopted Common Core and their educational ranking.

The Standards comprise three main sections: a comprehensive K-5 section and two content area-specific sections for grades 6-12, one for ELA and one for history/social studies, science, and technical subjects. Three appendices accompany the main document.
APA in-text citation style uses the author’s last name and the year of publication, for example: (Field, 2005). For direct quotations, include the page number as well, for example: (Field, 2005, p. 14).

Cite web postings as you would a standard web entry. Provide the author of the work, the title of the posting in quotation marks, the web site name in italics, the publisher, and the posting date. Follow with the date of access. Include screen names as author names when author name is not known.

States are implementing new educational standards, signaling the end of Common Core. Many states have implemented or are currently in the process of developing new educational standards to replace Common Core. Florida officially adopted the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking.

Whereas language arts classes in elementary school introduce students to grammar and composition, reading classes aid students in developing their comprehension and and analytical skills.
APA website citations usually include the author, the publication date, the title of the page or article, the website name, and the URL. If there is no author, start the citation with the title of the article. If the page is likely to change over time, add a retrieval date.
What Is In-Text Citation? In APA, in-text citations are inserted in the text of your research paper to briefly document the source of your information. Brief in-text citations point the reader to more complete information in the Reference list. When using APA format, follow the author-date method of in-text citation.
NOTE: The in-text citation for works with three or more authors is shortened to the first author’s name followed by et al. and the year. References: Author Surname, First Initial.
