If you have had a fall or hit your arm you might feel or hear a snap or a cracking sound. The main symptom is pain, which will be worse if you try to move your arm. A broken upper arm (fractured humerus) can be extremely painful, so much so that you may feel sick, dizzy or faint.
The circumstance of fracture without any history of significant trauma is not uncommon.
What Happens When a Bone Breaks? It hurts to break a bone! It’s different for everyone, but the pain is often like the deep ache you get from a super bad stomachache or headache. Some people may experience sharper pain — especially with an open fracture.
A bicep tendon injury can occur at your elbow or your shoulder. If you tear the biceps tendon at the elbow, you will lose strength in your arm and be unable to forcefully turn your arm from palm down to palm up. Radioulnar synostosis literally means a bony union between the two forearm bones. Normally, the ulna bone acts as a straight “post” to anchor the wrist to the elbow. The radius bone rotates around the ulna to allow the forearm to turn palm up and palm down.

It is not uncommon for a person to feel dizzy or groggy after breaking a bone and sometimes people feel cold as their body goes into shock. Within a few hours of your bone breaking, the body forms a clot around the break.
Tape a sheet of plastic to cover your splint when you take a shower or bath, unless your doctor said you can take it off while bathing. If you can take the splint off when you bathe, pat the area dry after bathing and put the splint back on. If your splint gets a little wet, you can dry it with a hair dryer.
Treatments ranging from casting to surgery can be required. Unfortunately, the scaphoid bone has a track record of being the slowest or one of hardest bones to heal.
